Privacy enhancements:
- Avoid products and services that have been reported to violate privacy: Google, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Skype and others
- Use encrypted search engines: https://ssl.scroogle.org/, https://www.startpage.com/, duckduckgo only keeps searches for 48 hours
- Use file encryption and secure file deletion: pupCrypt
- Use partition encryption: TrueCrypt
Often you can block unwanted content and the page still works fine. To block copy list below to /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com
