Alpha OS is a distribution built using packages from Arch Linux, with custom compiled kernel for aufs support, udev and very minimal number of other packages with goal of preserving full support for pacman package manager.

Alpha OS is minimal and uses a Frugal install but otherwise different to traditional Puppies. Default window manager and filer are openbox and spacefm.

Later versions were based are built using Live Linux Kit, rather than Puppy Linux tools.
